Depending on your accomodation package, your apartment
will be cleaned once a week, although the day of the week may differ
throughout your stay, but it is likely that you will have a regular
team of cleaners who work on your apartment. The information
on the cleaning schedule will be displayed in the building on a bulletin
board, normally located on the ground floor. Please understand that, for example, should you arrive on a Monday and your cleaning day is scheduled for a Tuesday, then please be aware that for your first week you will not receive any cleaning services.
The cleaners' duties involve:
- Changing AAES's "white" linen i.e. pillow cases/sheets.
On your cleaning day please place your white linen in the bath
tub or shower if you wish it to be changed.Failure to carry out this request will result in no change of linen.
- Dusting and vacuuming of all accessible areas in the apartment,
providing they can see the floors! Please try and make sure
the floors are clear on your cleaning day so that the cleaner can
access all areas.
- Cleaning kitchen and bathroom floors/all kitchen work surfaces/cooker
tops and sinks, once again providing they're clear.
- Cleaning
of bathroom suite, if access is available and all bottles of
shampoo etc. are removed.
- Removing refuse that has been correctly bagged in black bin liners,
provided it has not been left to accumulate until cleaning day. If
the rubbish bin requires emptying before cleaning day, it is your
responsibility to take the rubbish to the correct area.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE CLEANER IS NOT THERE TO:
- PICK UP AFTER YOU
- WASH UP POTS , PANS AND CUTLERY ETC.
- PROVIDE TOILET PAPER FOR YOU AFTER YOUR ARRIVAL
On the days of cleaning we would suggest that you clear
your bed of any of your own valuable or sentimental articles. Items
taken for laundry will be gone for good due to the fact that we use
an outside linen contractor. This contractor services tens of thousands
of sheets on a daily basis, making it difficult to retrieve lost items
(for which Anglo American takes no responsibility). If you use your own linen on the bed please remove this, and put it somewhere
safe, such as in a drawer or cupboard. In the past we have had
instances where students have left their own linen on the floor, and
it has been mistakenly sent to the linen company. |
