You can't possibly come to London and not see a production whilst you
are here. Unfortunately London theatre prices have gone up substantially
in recent years, but there are a number of ways in which you can get
cheap tickets and information about what is going on in London.
First thing is to decide what kind of production you want to see. There
are always a wide variety of both plays and musicals on. There
are a number of websites where you are able to find this information.
Please see our links page for further details.
The main rule to remember when booking theatre tickets is to try and
book in advance. You can do this in a variety of different
ways. We would recommend you checking with the Anglo American
ticket desk before purchasing tickets as we have a number of special
offers on theatre tickets, which could save you money.
In order to save money on theatre tickets you could use the following
methods;
- Contact Anglo American. We have a number of deals with theatre
companies that entitle you to reduced price tickets.
- Go to the theatre
on the day of the performance. Many of the
theatres have an allocation of student tickets and will offer
them to students at a reduced rate.
- Check out websites like lastminute.com
where you will often find special offers.
- Look in magazines and newspapers
for information on previews; they are often cheaper than the regular
performances.
Use the Official TKTS booth. This is a non-profit making organisation,
which has 2 sites, one in Leicester Square, and the other on the DLR platform
at Canary Wharf Station. The booth is open from 10am-7.00pm and
sells tickets for West-End shows on a first-come first-served basis for
as much as 50% off. You can only buy the tickets on the day of the
performance. All tickets are subject to a booking fee to cover admin
costs. Beware of other booths offering cheap tickets, many of them
are unofficial. |
